Now, how do you do it?

Four steps

  1. Get clear on your target market

  2. Figure out what problem you solve (or want to/can solve) for them

  3. Survey the competitive landscape

  4. Define how your solution is (or will be) different in a way that is better for them

Simple, right?

Yet so many startups get it wrong.

  • They don't do step 1 (our target market is everyone!)

  • They do the steps in the wrong order

  • They don't go revisit a prior step if they have issues along the way

  • And so much more
